About Essington Farm
Growing, cooking & serving with passion since 1892
From our fields to your table, Essington Farm is all about fresh, homegrown produce, quality meats, and delicious homemade food—proudly run by the Simkin family for generations.

Rooted in tradition, Growing for the future
Essington Farm is a proud family-run business, deeply rooted in the heart of the midlands. The Simkin family has farmed in Essington since 1892, and we’ve been retailing high-quality produce from our land ever since.
In 1990, we expanded with the opening of our country kitchen restaurant, where we serve meals made with ingredients straight from the farm. Our kitchen also prepares daily home-baked goods for the shop, preserving the tradition of wholesome, freshly made food.
Further growth came in March 2007 with the launch of our Butchery and Deli, giving us a dedicated space to offer our own free-range pork and Hereford beef, alongside locally sourced lamb from neighbouring farms.
At Essington Farm, we’re passionate about good food, local produce, and sharing the best of what our land has to offer—just as we’ve done for over a century.

We do! Follow us on social media or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed about specialty menu evenings, family events and tasting days.
Do you have to book Pick Your Own events?
Yes, booking is essential, to allow us to manage customer numbers to ensure that everyone has plenty of ripe fruit to pick. Tickets are released according to availability of fruit and therefore guarantee a better picking experience.
Why do you charge for Pick Your Owen events?
We can no longer afford to offer PYO as a free experience. Unfortunately, we lose an awful lot of fruit into people’s mouths while picking, but we are also experiencing significantly increased costs of production, along with increases in the insurance to allow people into our picking areas, crop covers, staffing costs and ticketing fees. Ready picked strawberries / other crops are available in the shop should you not wish to enjoy the picking experience.
